Did you get your Girl Scout cookies yet? Thin Mints? Samoas? What's your favorite? :)
This is our first year of being part of the Girl Scout family. My girls (yes, I said "girls" as in plural even though Momo isn't old enough yet) have really enjoyed the experience! I think we're going to be in it for the long haul!
To make things even better (for me) I recently found out that one of my favorite fabric designers, Robert Kaufman has a line of Girl Scout fabrics! NO WAY.
YES WAY.
Oh the things to be made! I went ahead and bought some fabric and made some aprons and a headband for the girls (and extra for my Etsy shop):

I found a super simple tutorial on how to make a headband. It takes just a few minutes and instead of using a piece of sewing elastic you use an elastic hairband:
Clever I tell ya. Want to know how to do it? Check out the tutorial at Blue Bird Studio.
Now, who wants cookies?
Oh I love! I am totally going to make E be in Girl Scouts, although I think it's going to be something she wants to do anyway. I might even try to be a leader, cause I'm all about that kinda stuff:)
ReplyDeletehow could you NOT buy something from someone wearing one of those!
ReplyDeletei was in girl guides (canadian) until i was 27. i got to travel the world being part of the organization as well. mexico, london, switzerland. i also worked in india for 6 months through the world organization. loved it. glad to hear your girls are loving it too.
I realize this post is last year but any chance you'd be interested in selling/making me one of the adult size aprons? I'd love to gift my Daisy Girl Scout co-leader one of those for end of the year! She collects aprons and would LOVE it! Please email me at leden@iskl.edu.my! It's adorable!
