You know what else is great about this party? You don't have to get all decked out! Just come (errr....STAY) as you are! ;)
So let's get started! Here's a short introduction about me....
My name is Sharon and I am a stay at home mom of two little girls, Kailani (7) and Momo (3). While my degree is in education this is where I need and want to be - at home with my kids until my youngest starts school However, as many of you know, motherhood/parenting can have it's challenging moments hence the title of my blog. ;)
I turned 40 this year - so yes, I am an "older" mom. But you know what? I'm totally okay with it! Something amazing has happened over the last several months...I've really started to figure out who I am. Sounds so "cliche-ish", I know, but it's true. While I have been healthier, happier, thinner, etc. I am way more confident than I have ever been. Go figure. Go me!
Last year we moved back to our home state of Hawaii after a three year absence. We are thrilled to be back! The weather, the people, the beaches, the food, the culture, the music....need I say more? We try our best to take advantage of living in this beautiful state - but when we are not out and about I enjoy sewing, doing crafts with the kids, cooking and then blogging about it (when I have a free minute!):
Examples:
- Motherhood - when my oldest cut her hair and ALL of her baby sister's hair!
- Cooking - broiled sushi recipe. I have more hits on my blog for this recipe than anything else!
- Sewing - roll-up car mat, doll diapers, dresses
- Kid's crafts
- Living in Hawaii
Now what about YOU? If you've linked up with the UBP2010 hopefully I'll find out! Pass the pillow and let the party begin!
*By the way, here is my wish list: the grand prize (a Toshiba LAPTOP), and numbers 6, 7, 8, 11, 15, 16, 19, 20, 29, 31, 32, 48, 49, 53, 58, 69, 71, 84.....Holy Cow. There are so much more! Hopefully I'll win SOMETHING! :)
Hi, I am stopping by from the UBP. So nice to meet you! I am also an older mom {turned 39 in Jan.} I am so glad that you are finding yourself.
ReplyDelete"Pass the pillow"..lol that's great! I can not wait to see Happy Happa and start shopping!! Kisses!
ReplyDeleteMy kiddos are the same ages- 7 and 3. I'm like you, have my degree, but in my case I'm only working part-time until both kids are in school.

ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend :)
Just visiting from UBP 2010. I loved your profile description, 'jack of all trades, master of nothing.' Describes most of us moms a lot!! We'd love to have you visit our site where moms worldwide find strength in each other as we navigate our way through motherhood. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by our site (www.powerofmoms.com). I'm SO jealous that you live in Hawaii.... Your blog seems like such a fun place! I'm excited to look through it more. Take care!

ReplyDeleteStopping in from the party!
Thanks for stopping by for the party!! I can't wait to have more time to peruse your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by to say hi from UBP! Very nice to meet you! Glad you're loving being back in the islands...our dear friends moved "home" a few years back and man do we miss them!! Good luck with your etsy shop...I'll be checking it out!
ReplyDeleteStopping by for the party! We almost went to Hawaii for our honeymoon - but it wasn't in our budget...I can't imagine how awesome it would be to live there!
ReplyDeleteI have a degree in education, too. I teach preschool (which is not my age of choice but is turning out to be more fun that I thought) two days a week. It gives me some extra cash for groceries and stuff - but also is only 2 days a week so I get to stay at home with my little ones most of the time.
I followed you through Network Blogs (I think that's what it is...)I just added mine yesterday and would really appreciate a follow back there - I think I have 2 followers and I'm one of them! :)
Hope you have a great weekend!
Oh WOW I am SO JEALOUS! What a lovely place to live. Can you teach me to surf?! :) I can get on my knees but I can never get UP on the board. I need you! LOL!
